And I don’t feel guilty about it at all – I am on holiday you see! My last official holiday in a loooong time, on Monday I am officially unemployed! I don’t know how I feel about it really… It’s a weird feeling, I mean it was my own choice to resign, and it’s for a good cause – to be able to join O in Puerto Rico, and I do like sleeping late in the mornings… But, it also means no salary, no independence, and being a typical woman who follows her man who is pursuing his career…
Well, I am trying to focus on the good things: I am going back to Sweden on Sunday, O & I have been apart for 9.5 weeks but we are meeting up in Spain on the 27th October to see his family before we head back to Sweden for a few days. It will be great to be together again, and then I will head over to Puerto Rico in the beginning of November – I can’t wait to see the sun again, walk on the beach, study Spanish, maybe finish my master’s thesis in political science from Lund University (I am a little embarrassed to contact my professor… do you remember me, I took the master’s course in autumn 2001...) and try to find a paid/unpaid job! Oh, and of course be the good hostess for all our visitors, the B&B is booked until end of March!
Yesterday was my last day at work, and my colleagues gave me a really nice farewell present – jewellery from Fossil (earrings, ring and necklace) and a card full of lovely words from everybody. I will miss them all, but I know that I will come back and visit them from time to time, when we are back in Brussels.
The farewells seem to be neverending, first we said goodbye when O left, then I said goodbye to my apartment, then I said goodbye to my friends who I saw in Milan and Paris, goodbye to my hairdresser last week, farewell girls’ night last Saturday, goodbye to my colleagues yesterday (and today as I am back in the office), said bye to the man in the photo shop today when I picked up my enlargements (his whole family knows my name!) and tomorrow is the big farewell party!!
Time to leave in other words… in order to say goodbye to everyone in Sweden!
