We have just arrived to Santa Barbara after spending yesterday and today on Highway 1 or the Big Sur as it is also called. It’s been a great trip so far, sunny weather, not a lot of traffic and some wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean – and not to forget, watching the elephant seals at Piedras Blancas (I took so many photos of the seals and even made a film). I hope to be able to post some photos soon but at the moment I am blogging from O’s laptop and 3G-card…

Yesterday we took off from San Francisco, but stopped first in Palo Alto for a morning fika at Stanford University with bloggers Monica (actually a former blogger, unfortunately – I think that we are many who miss her very interesting posts about American politics etc) and Lotta K (who takes beautiful photos, which she posts on her blog). The Stanford university campus is really nice and the company was even better 🙂 Time flew once again very quickly and we had so much to talk about… Lotta gave us interesting insights to university and student life as she teaches at several universities in the region, and Monica is one bubbly character who told us about life in Silicon valley. It was so great to meet the two girls in real life! O also enjoyed meeting them, fortunately he is a very social person who doesn’t mind me dragging him along to meet new people!

Oh, and I haven’t written about our Sunday in Marin county, north of San Francisco with my old friend Christos and his girlfriend R – another great day, walking in the Muir woods, a pic-nic and nap on the beach…
I’ll write more when I have my own computer and when I can show photos from everything!
Tomorrow is wine-tasting day in Santa Barbara winecountry – at least for me as the passenger 😉 … You have seen Sideways, haven’t you?
