Our local Walgreens sells two Swedish products:
Swedish Fish which is a fat free food according to the box – I wouldn’t try to make dinner out of it though as it is not real fish but a soft and chewy candy made in Canada!! They actually do look like the Swedish red fish sweets but are much sweeter than what I am used to.
- Delgaditas de jengibre or in English: ginger thins with 0 trans fat… Baked in Alberta, Canada! However, they look and taste like the Swedish ones, probably because it is the same brand as in Sweden – Annas.
A question: what’s with Canada and Swedish products??
Next time: Swiss cheese made by a company called Finlandia… another food mystery encountered in Puerto Rico.
PS. I read on this blog that IKEA is coming to the Caribbean! Unfortunately not to Puerto Rico but to the Dominican Republic – maybe an opportunity to take the car ferry to DR and stock up on Swedish cheese and Kalles Kaviar for O (if they manage to open before we leave next year). 😀
