This month it is Victoria in Florida who has chosen the Friday themes, and they are very interesting and challenging:
Friday 6th: Light (Swedish National Day)
Friday 13th: View
Friday 20th (Midsummer’s eve for us Swedes): 5 o’clock
Friday 27th: Cooking
Today’s theme can be interpreted in different ways, especially as the word for light in Swedish – ljus is also the word for candle… Here’s my interpretation:
The sun rises in Trinidad on the way to the airport to leave the Caribbean for the first time. Little did I know that I would live here three years later…
Last year O and I went to Puerto Rico in June to look for an apartment. One of the first mornings I woke up really early, probably due to the jet-lag and took a photo of the sunrise over the Atlantic before going back to sleep.
And finally, some candles to represent the Swedish meaning of ljus:
O celebrated his birthday in 2006 in Lapland, approximately 250 km north of the Polar Circle, together with some of my closest friends. We had bought a cake and candles for the birthday boy, but no matches 😦 so the birthday candles were lit the day after, without the cake – but the photo looks good, doesn’t it?
PS I don’t know what is wrong with our internet today but it is sooooo slooooow and I have spent more than an hour trying to upload the photos and finish this post, which was actually already written yesterday!! 😕
