When you read this, I will already be on my way back to Puerto Rico so what better way to say goodbye to the Swedish summer than to publish some of my photos from the last 1½ months… I think that the blog will have a Swedish summer theme during the whole month of August, as I have plenty of more photos and stories to share!
The summer didn’t start very well, June was rainy – as this month usually is in Sweden…
We spent a lot of time indoors, looking out on the rain😦 At least I got to read a lot of books – 10 in total during my 6½ weeks at home…
I love these [wild] flowers that grow at the side of the road and also in our garden in the summer house. It has been a constant battle between my parents this summer – my mother wants to bring some plants and flowers from the garden in town, my father keeps insisting on a wild garden but I think that a compromise would be perfect!
I have fully enjoyed the drives through the Skåne landscape – green and yellow fields, rolling hills and small villages…
And the new hammock that my siblings gave me for my birthday has been wonderful – it is just sooo peaceful to lie in it, rocking back and forth while reading a good book or simply look at the clouds and sky.
July was a better month weather-wise but still a few grey days like this one when my father and my old friend O (not to be confused with my love O!) took a swim with Stenshuvud in the background.
I managed to get invited for ice cream by all the visitors as I kept forgetting to bring money to the beach (the kiosk is on the way!)…😀
The annual Beach Handball tournament in Åhus was a fun experience with the Belgian visitors – a very random idea but 16,000 players made it an impressive event!
The classic sight on the Skåne south coast – Ale’s rocks, Sweden’s version of Stonehenge!
And last but not least, our pet toad who lives in the garden. My mother and I spent half an hour cutting down a dead bush while the toad sat in its hole observing us!
