A few photos from Lund and the Skåne countryside from the last two months:
The willows were traditionally planted along roads and fields in Skåne to keep the wind from removing the sand from the soil. The willow avenue is nowadays a symbol of Skåne, just like the goose, and the yellow rape / colza (raps) fields in spring
The winter-spring flowers have arrived – vintergäck or eranthis in English on Bantorget. My favourite time in spring is when the blue scilla or English bluebells bloom in abundance in Helgonabacken on the way to the University library (UB1)
There is a milk war going on in Skåne – the big supermarket chain Coop has decided to give preference to Arla dairy instead of local dairy company Skånemejerierna and people are furious! This shop is advertising that they will of course keep selling locally produced milk and in my local ICA Kvantum life-size cut-out pictures of local farmers announce that the milk is produced by them in Skåne!
