Some of you might remember my previous posts called “What a […] brings back from […] to […]”* and here is [some of] what O and I brought back from Sweden to Brussels on Monday:
Christmas presents and my grandmother’s spice jars. O and I got four mugs in total, including two of Stig Lindberg’s design (in the box to the right) and two British mugs (“Keep Calm & Carry on” + “Now panic & freak out”), and a Kulinaria (Rörstrand) “butter plate” which is perfect for the cheese or my breakfast sandwiches.
My siblings lent us lots of dvds – Mad Men and Six feet under are tv-series we have never watched, and Grey’s Anatomy for my ironing**. I couldn’t resist buying the pink soap – we always used to have Bliw as hand soap when I was a child and I love the shape of the container
Lots of books, as always! Some were Christmas presents, some were second hand from my aunt and some I bought myself. And one book was completely free in Ikea (“Hembakat är bäst” / Home-baked is best) with lovely photos. We discovered by the way that our Belgian Ikea Family card was valid also in Sweden – giving us the same discounts as if we would have had a Swedish membership.
Isn’t this a cool cake tin? It shows three of Sweden’s alpine ski stars from the late 1970’s and 80’s (Ingemar Stenmark,Torsten Jacobsson and Stig Strand (Stig was always my favourite!)). I found it in my parents’ basement (my grandmother had one as well that my sister will probably take care of) and my mother filled it with O’s favourite lavender biscotti.

**) I always used to iron to Grey’s Anatomy or Desperate Housewives in Puerto Rico and seeing that I am once again a housewife / unemployed, I needed some ironing entertainment 😉
