Just some random photos from our first weekend in Brussels this year.
Saturday afternoon we walked around an area of Brussels that we really like (in Woluwe-St-Lambert for those who are curious) looking for apartments for sale or rent. Yes, we are considering renting something bigger while continuing our search for a place to buy. Houses and apartments for sale or rent usually have signs up which makes it easy to identify them.
We went for dinner on Place Jourdan in the evening – but not at Maison Antoine (the famous friterie)… See photos from last spring of the same square here.
but Mamma Roma, one of our 3 (!!) favourite pizzerias in Brussels (the other two are Le Petit Macon and La Pomme de Pin)
Lots of delicious toppings for the pizza al taglio (pizza by slice)
You buy the pizza by slice (paying by weight), just like in my favourite pizzeria in Venice, Pizza al volo (remember that I studied in Venice 10 years ago)
After the pizza, we headed to Schaerbeek (one of the Brussels’ municipalities) for some stand up comedy (in English) with friends. It was great fun, and I won two free tickets for the next session in March!
On Sunday morning we invited ourselves to breakfast at our friends’ place! It was a beautiful day, 12,5 degrees and a bright blue sky – hence the shorts of the guy on the photo. Later on in the afternoon I walked to a French friend’s place for some fika and to her joy I brought a tube of räkost (fromage aux crevette / shrimp cheese, see the tubes from my previous blog post)…
Not a great shot, but right underneath the sign for the police station I noticed lots of broken glass – somebody had broken into at least THREE cars right under the nose of the police.
