I seem to have certain obsessions when it comes to things for my home: pillows & cushions (both in bed and in the sofa), mugs & bowls, candle holders and … trays! To O’s despair, I claim that you can never have too many of any of the above objects!
A tray is a shallow platform designed for carrying things. Trays are flat, but with raised edges to stop things from sliding off of them. They are made in a range of shapes but are commonly found in oval or rectangular forms, sometimes with cutout or attached handles with which to carry them (definition from Wikipedia).
In other words, trays are wonderfully practical! Here are some ways in which I use my many trays:
A new tray from Isak Design, a UK-based Swedish designer called Sandra Isaksson*. I like this tray size, perfect for a mug of tea or coffee and a bowl of porridge. By the way, any suggestions what to do with the white glögg, left over from Christmas?
A Christmas tray from Åhléns. Unfortunately it was cracked in the move to Puerto Rico but if I am careful I can still use it. I also have a bigger Christmas tray which is from the same collection as the mug (also Åhléns) but the colours are reversed (more red than white)
What are your household / interior design obsessions?
*) I really would like to have another tray from the designer, with the “Blossom and Bill”-characters, lovely!
