Despite the fact that my parents have been here for the last 24 days and are fantastic with helping out with taking care of V and the household, I just don’t seem to have much time left over once I have [breast-]fed V (three times per day despite working full time) and myself in the evenings. We are off to Spain in one week’s time to celebrate Easter, introduce our families to one another, and baptise little V. Real life will start when we are back in Brussels in April / without the assistance of V’s grandparents… wish us luck!
Tomorrow a dream will come true for my mother: we are going to Keukenhof in the Netherlands! She’s been dreaming about seeing the spring flowers of Holland since forever, and as it was her birthday a few days ago and the famous park just opened for the spring season, my father and I decided to treat her to a special excursion.
We had Swedish-Norwegian visitors a few weeks ago and V enjoyed playing with little M who was born just 4 days before him, and her 3-year old brother. It was a short but intense weekend where we didn’t have time to do much more than go to the playground and the market, eat and feed the children, and catch up. (Annika, can you see that V is wearing the Gap-jacket you gave him?)
I finally started the patchwork quilt project*! It is almost finished with lots of help from my mother and O. There are no straight seams but they keep assuring me that it’s ok, that it shouldn’t be perfect when it’s home made… Hm, I am not convinced 😕
As my parents couldn’t find any branches for sale at the market*, I have just put up my Easter decorations (from my favourite shop Dille & Kamille) in the orchids which have lost all their flowers
