It’s my birthday tomorrow (Monday) and after two crappy birthdays in the last few years, I wanted to organise something nice this weekend – a shopping lunch with one of my best friends here in Brussels yesterday, and a birthday picnic in the park today. Unfortunately the picnic rained away, but yesterday I had lunch with E and a curious V (we didn’t buy anything), a nice walk to and from the shopping centre, and then a great dinner party with our friends M & A and their son N who was born in Brussels 4 years ago, and our mutual friend P (too bad his wife M was at home in Cyprus). M & A used to live in Brussels, and we miss them a lot! They came back this afternoon for a late lunch / fika, and V tried to play with N again but he wasn’t too interested and thought that the baby was a bit annoying 😉 especially when V tried to stand up by pulling himself up with the help of N’s legs.
Everytime I open the dishwasher V races towards it and I try to hurry up filling it before he arrives
The frozen éclairs and profiteroles from Colruyt were surprisingly good!
V looking admiringly at N and his mother singing “Var bor du lilla råtta” (Where do you live little rat – in your hat, it even rhymes in English)
V’s favourite corner! He even stood up without holding onto anything yesterday, but he was leaning against the wall
Fika left-overs, diary and blog writing…
The orchids absolutely love our window facing East
Cleaning up after the fika party… In our new apartment the wall between the kitchen and living room is still there, we haven’t decided yet if we will tear it down.
As I said, V’s favourite corner…
Playing the piano 😉 Don’t mind my feet, they are not dirty just sunburnt in a stripey fashion from my shoe straps!
V actually plays with his own toys instead of kitchen utensils and my cds every once in a while 😉
I hope that you also had a good weekend!
